Attendees from the Class of '71 at my high school class reunion on 6/11/11. I had a marvelous time and made a speech on top of it. I loved seeing all of these people.

cookie a week

I was digging around in my old cookbooks and came across this cookie cookbook. Thought maybe I'd go through it making one cookie each week. Drop cookies is the first chapter. The first cookie called for canned pumpkin which I did not have so I made the second cookie in the book.



Fudge Ecstasties....I can say that they truly are ecstasy.



I forgot to put the chips in the first batch that I baked. I put them in after the first batch. Either way they are quite good. Kind of like a flourless chocolate cake in cookie form. The flat ones are the ones without chips.

three day weekend

I meant to do my work today but a brown bird sang in the apple tree.....yada yada yada

Now that tax season is over I have three day weekends. This weekend I meant to get so much work done. The house was going to be spotless by Sunday evening. Here it is almost Sunday evening and this is what I've done.



Today, Sunday,
I got up and made French toast for breakfast
I showered
I cleaned one toilet and one bathroom sink
I made 20 more paper birds
I sat on the patio and read from this book



I slept on the patio for an hour and a half
I blogged
I plan to make salmon burgers, potato salad and peas for dinner
followed by watching a movie
I avoided writing a speech all day long



Saturday
I got up and had breakfast
I went to the BAC where I took a hour long total body work-out class
I ran 2 1/2 miles and walked another 1 1/2 miles
I started to clean a bathroom but stopped to call the vet for my cat because he is having a problem with diarrhea
I showered
I took my cat to the vet
I had a lengthy discussion about poop with the vet
I brought my cat home
I wasted time in some manner before getting dressed to go to a fundraiser for the Boy and Girls Club
We went to the fundraiser where I was the only bidder on these chocolate pearls and so I got them at the minimum bid of $50
we got home at 10:00 pm and I Googled the pearls to find the value and discovered that they may only be worth $50 but they are very pretty
We watched a movie with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. The Tourist.....not impressed.
Avoided writing my speech all day




Friday
Up early to go to physical therapy
Stopped at Starbucks for a Misto and a vanilla bean scone
Stopped at a street sale where I picked up this little bench for my book nook. It was a pleasant day and I walked up and down the street enjoying the sunshine.
I showered
did laundry and changed the bed
Don't even recall what the afternoon held
Made hamburgers and fries
Watched Fight Club
Avoided writing my speech all day
